Community Service Award
New in 2024-25, the CAG Community Service Award is awarded to a CAG member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to volunteer work or community service (e.g. establishing clinical or academic programs in underserved communities nationally/internationally, advocacy work to advance the care of patients with GI conditions).

Selection Process
Candidates must:
- Hold an appointment at a Canadian university, hospital or research institute
- Be a Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant resident in Canada
Step One: Nomination

Nominators and Nominees must be CAG members in good standing for at least 3 years.
Submission Requirements
- Nominations must be submitted by September 15 11:59 PM ET
- Submissions received after the deadline will be considered for the following year.
- The Nomination form must be completed in a single session with the required documentation, it will not save your information to return to at a later time.

Step Two: Review
CAG Clinical Affairs will review the nominations and make recommendations to the Board, who will make the final decision regarding recipients.
The review committee will assess and score nominations on demonstrated achievements in the following area(s):
- Commitment to Volunteer Work or Community Service
- Establishment in Clinical or Academic Programs in Underserved Communities
- Advocacy Work to Advance Patient Care
- Innovation in Advocacy
- Community Impact and Recognition
Step Three: Approval
Only the award recipient will be notified by email. The recipient will be presented at the CDDW™ Conference, and it is expected they will formally accept it at the Opening and Awards Ceremony.
