Each year, the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology proudly recognizes two exceptional members through the Visiting Clinical Professorship and Visiting Research Professorship awards.
These awards support national knowledge exchange by enabling recipients to visit centres across Canada, sharing expertise in education, research, and clinical practice. Each Visiting Professor is expected to visit at least six centres across the country.

Interested in hosting a Visiting Professor?
Booking visits is available exclusively to CAG members for the period of July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027. The CAG covers air travel expenses, while host centres are responsible for local costs associated with the visit.

The Visiting Clinical Professor is available to both community and academic centres. Depending on their expertise, they may deliver educational talks, lead small group case-based discussions, demonstrate endoscopic techniques, or assist with local quality assurance efforts.

The Visiting Research Professor primarily visits academic centres, delivering lectures and engaging in research-focused discussions to advance knowledge in gastroenterology.
