Donald MacIntosh see

Dr. Donald MacIntosh, MD, FRCPC, CAGF

Dr. MacIntosh is a gastroenterologist based in Halifax, NS who has worked in the Central Zone of the NSHA since 1999 with clinical interests in IBD, ERCP and therapeutic endoscopy. He has had an active interest in Endoscopic Quality Improvement and as national co-lead has helped lead the development of the CAG SEE program. Dr. MacIntosh has taught endoscopic skills improvement courses nationally and internationally for several years. Now semi-retired, he is currently the medical lead of the NS Colon Cancer Prevention Program and continues to perform screening colonoscopy, along with continuing his involvement with the CAG Skills Enhancement in Endoscopy™, (SEE™) Program.

Alaa Rostom see

Dr. Alaa Rostom, MD, MSc, FRCPC, CAGF

Dr. Rostom is the Chair of the Division of Gastroenterology at the Ottawa Hospital / University of Ottawa and co-chairs the CAG SEE program. Dr. Rostom returned to Ottawa from the University of Calgary where he spent 7 years planning and implementing the Calgary zone colorectal cancer screening program. He was the Education Chair of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (term ended Feb 2010), and Chief Examiner for Gastroenterology for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (term ended Oct 2010). Dr. Rostom is highly involved in endoscopy skills training. Dr. Rostom’s research interests include research and clinical trial methodology, systematic reviews, patient-reported outcomes, and knowledge dissemination. He has conducted extensive research in the areas of GI toxicity of NSAIDs, COX-2 Inhibitors, Celiac Disease, and colonoscopy preparation. Dr. Rostom has participated in and conducted consensus conferences on Celiac Disease, NSAID/COX-2 Inhibitors, and GI bleeding, and is currently co-leading the Canadian consensus conference on Celiac Disease.

Kevin Waschke see

Dr. Kevin Waschke, MD, CM, FRCPC, FASGE, CAGF

Dr. Waschke is a gastroenterologist at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC). His clinical activities include EUS, ERCP, therapeutic endoscopy and general gastroenterology. He is an active clinical teacher, with a particular interest in endoscopy training. He has numerous academic roles, notably the President of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology, and provides ongoing expertise in educational design for the PQDCCR (Quebec colon cancer screening program), CAG Skills Enhancement in Endoscopy™, (SEE™) Program, ASGE STAR Programs and ASGE GI Leap educational platform. During the COVID pandemic, he is also acting as the Réaffectation (Medical Manpower) Coordinator for the MUHC.
