Job Description / Duties

The Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are inviting applications for the position of Gastroenterologist. This is a temporary/ locum position replacing a gastroenterologist on maternity leave. The estimated duration for this position will be from September 1, 2025 to May 4, 2026.
Preference will be given to candidates with a background based on experience and/ or training caring for patients with liver disease, and qualified to perform high quality upper and lower endoscopy. However, a formal background or training in hepatology is not required.
The successful candidate will join the Division of Gastroenterology which provides inpatient consultation service and ambulatory care including gastrointestinal endoscopy. Responsibilities will include excellent clinical care of both in-patients and out-patients, liaison with primary care.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, have or be eligible for certification in Gastroenterology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for medical licensure in Ontario. The successful candidate will have an independent license to practice medicine in Ontario.
