Job Description / Duties

Seeking a locum gastroenterologist to cover maternity leave for a General Gastroenterologist approximately April 20-Dec 1 2025.
You would be joining a division that currently consists of 5 gastroenterologists who provide inpatient consultation on weekly rotation, as well as maintain individual private practice. Private office currently offers positive, collaborative working environment with exceptional office admin support and part time nursing support. Dedicated endoscopy nurses are available for after hours emergencies while on call. Endoscopy resources are shared equitably between division members. There is an opportunity to teach medical students and residents on Gastroenterology rotation and on medicine wards. Current gastroenterologist participates in Internal Medicine call approxiately 1/22 and one weekend/6 mos. Participation in Internal Medicine call would be an asset but is not required for the position.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Candidates must be able to obtain a license to practice medicine in New Brunswick with the College of Physicians and Surgeons and must be eligible for/hold fellowship in Gastroenterology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Saint John is a city on the Bay of Fundy, in New Brunswick, Canada. It is known as New Brunswicks "Port City"and welcomed 80+ cruise ships in 2024. (which can be seen from the office window)
Population is approximately 75 000. The uptown is known for its charm, growing food scene, and the historic Imperial theatre and City Market. The mid town Rockwood Park offers endless trailways and picturesque lakes.

Salary: billing per provincial MCP billing. Office billing support in place.
