The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at Vancouver Coastal Health – Richmond Hospital seeks an FRCPC certified Gastroenterologist to join our team of Gastroenterologist in July 2025
We are looking for an interested Gastroenterologist to join our division as permanent member with a long-term view. The role responsibilities include providing consultations to the emergency department, routine ambulatory Gastroenterology procedures and outpatient clinic-based cases. Physician with interests in hepatology is preferred but not essential. Both experienced physicians, new and soon to be, Canadian graduates are invited to apply.

The hospital has over 225 beds, runs a busy ambulatory procedure centre. The medical community is collegial and supportive with excellent relationships between departments as well as between community family physicians and specialists. Due to its proximity to the Vancouver airport, the hospital also provides services to visitors traveling to and from YVR. Richmond is located on Lulu Island at the mouth of the Fraser River, and also encompasses adjacent Sea Island and some smaller uninhabited islets to the north and south. Neighbouring communities are
Vancouver and Burnaby to the north, New Westminster to the east, and Delta to the south. The Strait of Georgia forms its western border. To meet the growing demand for healthcare services, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is ensuring we plan for the future. Richmond Hospital is undergoing plans for a campus wide expansion and renewal. As announced in July 2020 by the Premier and Minister of Health, the aim is to build a new acute care tower. Incorporating modernized healthcare design principles, the new facility provides increased inpatient care beds, perioperative services, medical imaging and emergency services to support quality patient care and staff wellness and safety.
