Job Description / Duties
The successful candidate will:
• Provide multidisciplinary consultative care for the full spectrum of GI disorders.
• Share equitably in the GI on-call rotation and access to endoscopy resources.
• Assume a leadership role within the Endoscopy Committee to advance a growing biliary program and spearhead the possible development of a local EUS program.
• Contribute actively to advancing the DOM and GI Division’s strategic goals and vision.
Qualifications / Required Skills
We are seeking a candidate who holds Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Gastroenterology and is eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. Fellowship training and expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, are required. MGH is committed to supporting EUS as this is part of our strategic plan and training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is considered advantageous.
Additional Information
Academic appointment at the University of Toronto, Department of Medicine, will be at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic accomplishments. An interest in scholarly activity, including clinical and health outcomes research, is highly encouraged. Excellence in education and active engagement in hospital committee work is expected.

In 2022, MGH opened the Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre — a new, state-of-the-art, eight-story facility along with a new endoscopy unit — as part of an extensive campus redevelopment project. We maintain strong multidisciplinary partnerships with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) and the Odette Cancer Centre.
