EPIC: Endoscopic Polypectomy Improvement Course - Hamilton, ON (May 24)

This SEE™ Program course is exclusively available to Canadian practicing Endoscopists, and Fellows in their last year and in a subspecialty program. 

  • 1-day course
    • Half-day didactic lecture (Approach to Polypectomy: Diagnosis of polyps; Polypectomy techniques; Case-based discussion).
    • Half-day practical hands-on session using an ex-vivo porcine model.
  • Facilitated by five (5) Certified SEE™ Faculty teaching up to three (3) delegates per station (a total of 15 delegates per course).

EPIC Learning Objectives:

  1. Incorporate standardized endoscopic morphological assessment systems to determine the risk of invasive malignancy, including Paris and NICE Classifications and Kudo Pit Pattern assessment.
  2. Decide on the optimal polypectomy technique for different types of polyps (cold biopsy, cold snare, hot snare, endoscopic mucosal resection).
  3. Perform successful polypectomy in an en bloc or piecemeal fashion, using proper lifting techniques.
  4. Apply hemoclips for hemostasis and/or defect closure.
