What's New > JCAG Editorial Fellowship Update
We are happy to announce Dr. Lisa Laforce-van Lierop as the 2026-27 JCAG Editorial Fellow.
Lisa completed her medical degree in the Netherlands, followed by clinical practice in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She subsequently pursued a PhD at the University of Alberta, where her research focused on optimizing therapeutic strategies in inflammatory bowel disease.
In July, as she officially begins her JCAG Fellowship, she will also begin her internal medicine residency at the University of Alberta. She is dedicated to advancing the field of gastroenterology through clinical research, evidence-based care, and innovation in treatment approaches for complex gastrointestinal diseases.
Lisa aims to use her time as an Editorial Fellow to support the clear communication of high-quality scientific research and further develop her expertise in academic publishing and peer review.
Welcome to JCAG, Lisa!
Thank You to JCAG's Outgoing Fellow
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Narges Ashrafinia for her contributions as the 2025-26 Editorial Fellow.
Throughout her fellowship, Narges played an important role in supporting the journal while gaining insight into the editorial and publication process. Reflecting on her experience, Nagres shared, "Working with Dr. Benchimol, Dr. Yaghoobi, the Editorial Board, and the JCAG Staff, has been an invaluable learning experience, and I greatly appreciate the mentorship and support throughout my training."
We are grateful for her contributions over the past year and look forward to seeing her continued success and future achievements within the GI community.
