What's New > CDDW 2027 Registration Changes
As we prepare for CDDW 2027, there are some changes to registration fees and complimentary registration. These changes are part of a broader effort to ensure CDDW remains financially sustainable while continuing to deliver the high-quality national meeting that Canada’s GI community values.

Why Registration Fees are Changing
CDDW is the largest single activity undertaken by CAG, but the meeting has not been covering its costs. Registration fees have remained unchanged for several years, while the costs of delivering a meeting of this scale — including venue, audiovisual, and food and beverage costs — have increased substantially.
The Board has therefore made the decision to bring registration fees more closely in line with the actual cost of delivering CDDW and put the meeting on a more sustainable financial footing.
This will help ensure that CDDW can continue to provide a strong educational program, support trainee participation, and offer the high-quality experience attendees expect.
Changes to Complimentary Registration
Complimentary registration will no longer be provided to CAG member speakers and moderators. Invited speakers from outside CAG will continue to receive complimentary registration.
Approximately 38% of CDDW registrations have historically been complimentary. Moving away from complimentary registration for member faculty will help distribute the cost of the meeting more equitably among those who participate and benefit from it.
CAG greatly values the contributions of speakers and moderators and recognizes the important role they play in delivering the CDDW program. This change is part of the broader approach to ensuring the meeting remains sustainable for the future.
CAG Is Also Reducing Costs
Registration fees are only one part of the approach.
The Board of Directors and CDDW Implementation Committee have reviewed the meeting budget carefully and identified opportunities to reduce costs wherever possible without compromising the quality of the educational program or attendee experience. The CAG National Office is applying the same discipline to its operations more broadly.
CAG’s finances will also be presented at the Annual General Meeting in February 2027.
Looking Ahead
We recognize that these changes represent a meaningful increase in registration fees. The Board did not make these decisions lightly.
CDDW remains Canada’s premier national gastroenterology meeting, bringing together clinicians, researchers, trainees and other members of the GI community for education, research, collaboration and connection.
These changes are intended to ensure CDDW remains on a sound financial footing so CAG can continue to invest in the quality, educational content and overall experience that make the meeting valuable to our community.
We look forward to welcoming you to Vancouver.
