What's New > CAG Supports National Call for Tax Fairness and Affordability for People with Celiac Disease
The Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) is pleased to support Celiac Canada’s Tax Fairness and Affordability Petition.
The petition urges the Government of Canada to make gluten-free foods more affordable by simplifying and expanding the medical expense tax credit process for individuals with celiac disease. For those who must follow a strict gluten-free diet, the additional costs can be significant and create unnecessary barriers to health and quality of life.
As advocates for digestive health and equitable access to care, CAG stands with the celiac community in calling for fairer tax policies that recognize the medical necessity — and financial burden — of gluten-free diets.
