What do I need to know as an author?

Please review the JCAG Author Guidelines to learn about how we publish, the peer review process, preparing your manuscript, and much more.

How much does it cost to publish a paper?

JCAG offers some of the lowest publication fees in the medical publishing landscape, with reduced rates for CAG members — and an additional 75% subsidy for CAG trainee members — to encourage participation and improve accessibility.

Publication fees (charged only upon acceptance and publication):

  • Trainee CAG Member: $387 USD
  • Regular CAG Member: $1,546.36 USD
  • Non-Member: $2,308 USD
To qualify for the trainee subsidy, trainees must:
  • Be the first (primary) author of the manuscript
  • Hold a current CAG Trainee membership
  • Select “Original Article – CAG Trainee” as the manuscript type at submission

Please note: case reports are not eligible.

How long is the publishing process?

The typical timeframe from submission to publication is approximately 1-2 months. Timelines may vary depending on the quality of the manuscript and whether revisions are required during peer review.

How do I submit my manuscript?

When you are ready to submit, visit the JCAG Submission Site. Please use your CAG ID to ensure you receive the member discount.
