Fellowships

The Canadian Association of Gastroenterology awards postdoctoral fellowships in basic and clinical research.  This national peer reviewed research program is a partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) who support the program with matching funds.  The CAG appreciates and recognizes the generous funding from our research partners for the following awards:

AstraZeneca/CAG Research Initiative Awards > two-year term with a potential third year (2)
CCFC/CAG Fellowships > two-year term (3)
Abbott/CAG IBD Fellowships > two-year term (2)
Bristol Myers Squibb/CAG Fellowship > two-year term (1)
Janssen/CAG Fellowship > two-year term (1)
Pentax/CAG Therapeutic Endoscopic Research Fellowship > two-year term (1)
Ferring/CAG IBD Fellowship > one-year term (1)

General Requirements
All awards are open to Ph.D. and M.D. fellows who wish to pursue research projects in the laboratories or clinics of our members across Canada.

Research applications will ONLY be considered from a supervisor who is a CAG Regular Member or who has been approved for Provisional CAG Regular Member status.  Application for CAG Regular Membership must be submitted to the CAG National Office no later than July 1st for those submitting a research application for the October 15th deadline.  Co-supervision is an option, but the reasons for this must be clearly justified in the application.  Although it is preferable that a co-supervisor outside of Canada is a CAG member, it is not mandatory.

The closing date for ALL applications is October 15

Awards will commence July 1 in the year following the application deadline.
