The Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG), in collaboration with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) and the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the Summer Student Scholarships for Research in Gastroenterology. These scholarships, are designed to provide short-term financial support for undergraduates who wish to obtain introductory training in research in the field of Gastroenterology.
Award
The successful candidate will be expected to work full time on a research project under the supervision of a qualified investigator for ~ 4 months. The stipend is $5,500, with an additional $500 provided to the supervisor to support materials and supplies associated with the project.Eligibility Requirements
- The Supervisor must be a member of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterolgy.
- The Student must be enrolled in an undergraduate program (M.D., B.Sc., B.A. etc,)
- The Student must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant resident in Canada.
Awarding Procedure
The award will be made on the basis of suitability and excellence of:- The applicant, based on previous scholastic records.
- The research proposal, with emphasis on the applicant's role in an ongoing project illustrating how the project provides an introduction to research in any aspect of gastroenterolgy.
- The environment where the research is to be carried out.
