Scholars' Program
SCHOLARS’ PROGRAM
The annual Scholars’ Program is a unique learning program to identify exceptional 3rd and 4th year medical students, PGY1/PGY2 internal medicine and paediatric residents to encourage them to consider a career in gastroenterology. Each scholarship covers travel, accommodation and living expenses (per course guidelines) to attend the Scholars’ Program which is held in association with the joint CDDW/CASL Winter Meeting.
The RCPSC Gastroenterology Program Director from each medical school across Canada may recommend two candidates to receive a Scholars’ Program Scholarship. Letters supporting each candidate may be written by either the RCPSC Program Director or university Divisional Director for Gastroenterology but application forms must be signed by the RCPSC Gastroenterology Program Director. Candidates will be reviewed by the Scholar’s Program co-chairs, whose selection will be final.
Gastroenterology Program Directors will be sent an announcement early in September and this will outline the eligibility criteria as well as a nomination form. Letters of recommendation along with the completed nomination form must be mailed or faxed to the CAG National Office (#224, 1540 Cornwall Road, Oakville, ON L6J 7W5) by October 15th.
