What is PAGE?
The Practice Audit in Gastro Enterology (PAGE) is an easy-to-complete, self-audit program in which physicians enter data regarding their clinical practice on a hand-held personal digital assistant (PDA) that has been pre-programmed with audit questions. How Does it Work?
Physicians indicate their interest in PAGE by completing the sign-up form posted on the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) website or by contacting the CAG National Office by email (cagoffice@cag-acg.org), phone (1-888-780-0007) or fax (905-829-0242). Once any necessary local approvals are in place to conduct the audit, an AstraZeneca representative will deliver the pre-programmed PDA to the physician, set up the unit for the participant, and provide some basic instruction on the easy-to-use program. At the end of the audit period the representative will again visit the physician to download and forward the data to the central database. Participants are provided a confidential and unique username and password that allows them to log on to the database to view their data as well as aggregate, but not individual, data from across the country. In all stages of the practice audit, from receipt of the PDA to the posting of records, all individual data remains confidential and only accessible to the participant.
